Innomipoint contest, 1-14-10

Nah, I haven't forgot about this little contest I started.  I just get easily distracted.  Yeah, that's it.  I got distracted.  Not my fault.  If it weren't for those shiny trinkets over there, I'd have posted a lot more.  Yeah.

Anyway, let's get this thing going again!

Original post w/ rules

1.  The cartoons kids watch nowadays are:
  • A. Flat-out amazing, especially the anime kind of stuff
  • B.  About the same quality as the stuff innominatus watched 35 years ago
  • C.  All cartoons are stupid.  By extension, this question and this contest and this blog and its author are also stupid.
  • D.  Ya think Spongebob is even in the same league as Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner and Superfriends?  Are ya serious?
2.  Today there is no question #2.  But if there were, what would it be?

3.  Essay question - compose a brief poem (haiku or limerick format preferred) regarding the Coakley/Brown race in MA.

Extra Credit question worth up to ten points:
  • Why is a mouse when it spins?
Feel free to approach this from a thermodynamics angle, philosophical angle, or from a post-accident Gary Busey meta-crackhead angle.

  1. Q 1) D, but incomplete referencing delayed my response, Space Ghost, Heckyl and Jeckyl and Mighty Mouse were not considered. So extra credit is due I think, since I'm getting on in years.

Q 2) Why would you want to waste precious keystokes at the inhouse?

Q 3) Coakley = to suck; Brown = man buck.

X-C) Same as, "Why it's a rat when health care reform spins", Reid's head is stuck, and spinning is his only course of direction.

(Thanks for the drive by, and pink suits his wimpy nature.)

  2. D. Although Space Ghost is cool. and I record the Venture Brothers.

Would you rather have a cocktail with Ronald Reagan or Queen Elizabeth?

    "Push polls
    "Pushy Democrats
    "Pushy people
    "Fell"

A weight, sub-tended by a string of 10 inches in length, rotated from a fixed position on a rod with a one-inch diameter, will be how long after three revolutions?

    Wouldn't you like to know.

  3. Q1: 2. Fairly Oddparents and Ed, Edd, and Eddy ARE good cartoons.

Q2: What is the meaning of ACORN?

Q3: There was a man named Brown
Who planned to take the Democrats down
    With Coakley against willing
Brown went and got Curt Schilling
And hopefully will win it all

    EC: I don't know-- why wouldn't it?

  4. 1. D

    2. What can Brown do for you?

    3.
    When push comes to shove
    Don't be a righty journo
    You'll end up on ground

EC - Say what you say. But give me that bomb beat from Dre. Let me serenade the streets of L.A. From Oakland to Sacktown. The Bay Area and back down. Cali is where they put they mack down. Give me love.

  5. These things are getting tougher all the time...

Q1. D, but I agree with my colleagues in the peanut gallery about Space Ghost, Heckle and Jeckle, and Mighty Mouse.

Q2. "Would you rather drive to work or take your lunch?"

Q3. There once was a man named Brown,
    who by storm took over Bean Town;
    They gave him THEIR seat,
    for Coakley he beat,
and for once, common sense did rebound!

Ex-c. Because ice cream has no bones. Easy peasy.

  7. HEy, Do being late count against me? I don't want to lose out in my (now) 4th place tie! [me gearing up to bring my "aA" game...]

Q1) D. Capital D. Bugs Bunny and the Barber of Seville, original Tom and Jerry, Yosemite Sam would all slice, dice, shoot and generally eat and defecate SpongeBob and all his ilk. Don't get me started!

Q2) If there is "jumbo shrimp" and an "expiration date" on Twinkies, could there conceivably be "kosher ham"?

Q3) If Brown makes it down
    to Washington Town,
    The Democrats would choakley,
Their hopes were all pinned on the Hag, in the end,
The one we all know as Coakley.

Extra Credit) From the perspective of a Post Modernist artist, it is because of the shock value, the impact it has and the novelty of the ironical commentary on Western Religion, namely Christianity, which is inherently evil and represssive, even though as a Post Modernist, the very act of defining something as evil and repressive is counter to the "belief system" of said Post Modernist". IF you are not confused enough by that, then my answer is "potatoes".

  8. 1 = D The older toons are way funnier. I course I am partial to Bug's Bunny!

2 = How long will be be before obummer is arrested for treason?

3 = Coakley, the faint sound of a frog being crushed...hearing one. last. croak....
as the Magnificent Patriot Brown restores America's Constitution....the Eagle Smiles

Extra Credit: The modest mouse never asks WHY, it just spins on its' axis, keeping the world on course

  9. How did I not see this earlier?
1.D Bugs Bunny is way better than Sponge Bob. Plus I don't think it's funny that Sponge Bob cartoons contain subliminal messages that tell kids to burn the hoouse down. It's just wrong!
    2. Before Hitler was born, who were people compared to if they were really evil? Like, the czar or something?
    3. There once was a man/
    From Nantucket Scott Brown ran/
    Coakley? Not a fan

It rhymes, it's in haiku form, and it's almost a limerick. I should get double points.

  10. Q1: NOTHING compares to Voltron, Thundercats, Super Friends and/or Transformers. Period. End of story. I will defend to my dying breath the truth contained in that statement.

Q2: One year in to the Obama presidency. Unmitigated Total Failure or Man-Caused Disaster?

Q3: It's no haiku or limerick, but here it is none-the-less.

The Kennedy Seat belongs to us.
    Yes We Can!
We'll win this election with little fuss.
    Yes We Can!
With the Media on our side.
    Yes We Can!
There's little hope the GOP can turn the tide.
    Yes We Can!
    Scott Brown, is teh suck!
    Yes We Can!
    Driving 'round a racist truck
    Yes We Can!
    Martha Coakley will surely win.
    Yes We Can!
But in the event that she's unable to pull off the victory in MA, we'll blame her as being a weak candidate and shield the President from the embarrassing failure and then call the voters a bunch of sexist, bigoted, homophobic racists.
